Plan review is the most effective, yet least expensive way to improve access. New construction is required to be fully compliant and alterations are required to be compliant to the maximum extent feasible. We base our reviews on current enforceable code, but we also add recommendations for compliance to new codes pending enforcement so that our clients can make the decision whether or not to comply with higher standards as a good practice. Past that, we also recommend performance standards that will streamline the design and construction process to ensure that the end result is a facility both usable by and accessible to persons with disabilities.
